Formosa Marine is a proudly Australian-owned aluminium plate boat manufacturer with over 25 years of innovation, building tough, stable, high-performance fishing and recreational vessels—our “Aquatic Weaponry.” With exciting projects on the horizon, we’re growing our team and looking for motivated individuals to help bring our boats to life.

We’re currently seeking a Fit-out/Finisher to join our tight-knit crew and support the final stages of boat assembly prior to delivery. This is a hands-on, detail-focused role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment – most of all, we’re looking for people who fit our culture!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install fabricated components on boats
  • Fit fuel tanks and complete plumbing installations
  • Install flotation foam
  • Cut and lay marine flooring
  • Assemble and install windscreens
  • Install steering systems and electrical harnesses
  • Fit upholstery, marine fixtures, and accessories
  • Perform final detailing and quality assurance checks

Key Requirements:

  • Pride in workmanship with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet high-quality standards and deadlines
  • Proactive, reliable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • Experience with marine fit-outs, 12V electrical systems, or similar hands-on trades will be highly regarded
  • Australian permanent residency is required for this position

About the Work

Depending on your skills, experience and future availability, roles may involve:

  • Aluminium MIG welding (primarily 3mm–4mm aluminium) on mid-size pleasure boats
  • Fabrication and assembly of CNC router–cut aluminium components
  • Operation of machinery such as press brakes, routers, rollers and bandsaws
  • Learning various stages of the boat-building process
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control
  • Working as part of a small, close-knit production team

All tools are provided, including Fronius pulse MIG welders, with modern processes designed to make assembly efficient and accurate.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time opportunities may be available
  • Monday to Friday work week (with some areas operating Monday to Thursday)
  • Overtime available when required
  • Clean, organised workshop environment

Remuneration

Hourly rates are negotiable and based on experience and ability.
